Huge congratulations to the U9 Bobcat Warriors on winning the SMHA Wendel Clark Community Assist Award! This is the second time in three years a Bobcat team has won this award.
Check out their nomination and some photos below!
The U9C Bobcat Warriors volunteered through various ways in an effort to show community spirit and give back as best they can. Members of the team raised money for the Friendship Inn through the Tim Horton's Smile Cookie fundraiser in November. The boys sold hundreds of cookies through the order form and hand delivered them to friends and family in the community. All proceeds raised went directly to the Friendship Inn.
The team assisted with a food drive in December through the FIll the Net Challenge. They walked through the community of Stonebridge in December and went door to door, collecting enough nonperishable food items to fill a full size hockey net. All of these items went to the Saskatoon Food Bank.
Finally, the boys hand made Christmas cards for the residents of Samaritan's Place. They had a great time working together and crafting, and were so excited to spread Christmas cheer to the residents.
The boys really enjoyed working together as a team and loved the happy feeling they got from knowing they were helping community members in Saskatoon.
