Online Registration for the upcoming 2026-2027 hockey season opens JUNE 1.
To ensure your player secures a spot in their home zone and avoids late fees, please review the critical dates and details below:
Key Registration Dates
- General Registration Window: June 1 – June 30, 2026.
- Late Registration Window: July 1 – August 20, 2026.
- Late Fee: A $100 late charge will be automatically added to all registrations received starting July 1, 2026.
- Late Fee Exceptions: Players new to minor hockey, families who have newly moved into SMHA jurisdiction, and all U7 players are exempt from this late fee.
- Payment Deadline: All registration fees are due in full to your home zone by September 1, 2026.
How & Where to Register
- Zone Registration: SMHA offers programs for players ages 5 to 17. All players must register online through their designated home zone website.
- Zone Lookup: SMHA consists of six geographic hockey zones. If you are unsure which zone you reside in, you can look it up online.
- Coach Registration: Thinking of coaching this season? General coach registration is handled directly through your respective home zone. Please visit your home zone's website for specific opening dates and application details.
- Saskatoon Comets (Female Hockey): Female players can register city-wide with the Comets for U7–U18 all-female teams.
- First Shift Program: Designed for players ages 6–10 who must create an HCR account, registration opens June 3, 2026.
Tryouts & Competitive Programs
- Saskatoon AA Hockey Tryouts (U13, U15, U16, & U18): Players trying out for AA must register with Saskatoon AA Hockey in addition to registering with their home zone.
- Comets Female AA Tryouts (U13, U15, & U18): Female players looking to try out for female AA must register with the Saskatoon Comets.
- SMHA City-Wide A Tryouts (U15 & U18): If interested in trying out for U15A or the new city-wide U18A league, you must register separately via the SMHA website AND register for U15 B/C or U18 B/C with your home zone. Please select the "Pay Later" option for your Zone registration until final team placement is determined.
- Coach Registration: Applications for U15A and U18A coaches is open and remain open until August 20, 2026. Register Here

Please ensure your registration is submitted by June 30th to secure your spot with your home zone and avoid the $100 late fee.
